Flexfire™ flexible light pipes provide an easy method for transmitting light from boardmounted LEDs to a front panel

Part of the Flexfire™ light pipe family, the FLX44 Series offers a 0.313” (7.95mm) panel opening threaded lens, and IP67 / NEMA 6P ratings for harsh environments and industrial applications. The FLX44 Series moisture sealed configurations for wet or exposed locations combine rugged performance with increased flexibility for applications where a bend or bends are required.

“The FLX44 Series light pipe is well suited for proof of concept prototyping applications that require bends and turns of indirect LED placement within an enclosure. The FLX44 Series can be used for application demonstrations prior to making a more customized part that would require a tooling investment,” said Mark Baker, director business development at VCC.

Standard fiber lengths range from 2” (50.8mm) to 12” (304.8mm), with custom sizes available. With a 160-degree viewing angle, the surface mount or thru-hole LED light pipes easily extend light from the board to the desired surface. VCC light pipes can be ordered in square, round or rectangular panel connections to meet practically any design need.
